Tabletop roleplaying games designed with first-time, long-time, & diverse players in mind.

POSSIBLE WORLDS RPG SERIES

When I write roleplaying games, I don’t design them for gamers, I design them for farmers. Specifically, I design them for my younger brother—a former Western PA cattle farmer who’s never played an RPG I haven’t handed him. He doesn’t have time for (or interest in) complex players’ handbooks and he doesn’t own any “weird dice,” but he’s always one of the best players at my table because he’s a natural storyteller. It’s just a matter of getting the story started, adding some twists, and watching him be surprised by his own creativity.

Possible Worlds is the culmination of that design ethos. Pulling from years of design & publishing experience, each game in this series is a full, stand-alone RPG printed as a wire-bound guidebook. Ranging from comedic to contemplative, our core games are simple enough to play with no preparation, but robust enough to play hundreds of times over without ever telling the same story twice—all small enough to fit in your back pocket. Check them out solo or pick up a fancy boxed set!

BEAK, FEATHER, & BONE SERIES

Our first and best-known RPG is the lightly competitive map-labeling RPG Beak, Feather, & Bone. Starting with an unlabeled city map, players are assigned community roles before taking turns claiming and describing locations. Players draw from a standard 52-card deck to determine a building's purpose and then describe its beak (reputation), feather (appearance), and bone (interior). As buildings are claimed, a narrative for the town and its inhabitants emerges, including major NPCs and shifting power-dynamics.

Following in the footsteps of games like The Quiet Year, Beak, Feather, & Bone can be played as an isolated gaming experience or be used as a worldbuilding tool within larger RPG campaigns. A simple game with robust applications, a variety of expansions and optional rules have been released, with more on the way!

EXPERIMENTS & ONE-OFFS

Not every game fits neatly into a series! Sometimes an interesting game idea hits but isn’t enough to sustain a larger project. Rather than let these sparks of creativity languish, we want to share them with you!

From free games to collaging tools to one-page RPGs, these are projects where we let ourselves with new forms and formats between more traditional games. Give them a look, and don’t be surprised if bits and pieces wind up working their way into products down the line!
